Alternative Treatment/Medicine for Rheumatoid Arthritis? |
|||||
Question:
I am suffering from what has been diagnosed as Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have suffered for over 10 years. The initial stages included headaches, afterwards my legs were affected, but now both hands and shoulders are also affected. The doctors are only interested in placing her on steriods, something she wants to avoid at all costs -- both in principle and as she understands it will affect her fertility. I am interested in finding information on reputable alternative medicine treatment of RA in general, and NATURAL remedies for the treatment of pain, and inflammation of joints specifically. Answer: my mother was given conventional treatment for arthritis for many years. She was unable to work, and took many pain killers every day. Two months after beginning a gluten-free diet, she was able to golf 7 holes on each of two consecutive days. She limped, and was unable to complete the round, and had to rest quite a lot, but she did do it. She has slowly improved from there. Fourteen years ago, she underwent hip replacement surgery, so we are not talking about a mild case. |
